Introduction to Sewing Machine
Never touched a sewing machine but want to learn to sew? Have done some sewing but want to get reacquainted? This quick class will teach you everything you need to get started.
You will learn how to thread the machine, load the bobbin, adjust tension, change needles, and troubleshoot. You will sew straight lines, turns, and backstitch. You will learn about sewing techniques like putting in different types of seams and also learn to adjust the settings on the machine. You will practice what you learn through a sewing project. Students will choose between: Gift bag, drawstring bag, phone case, or apron.
No supplies or prerequisites.

Kids Sewing (Ages 8 - 12)
Has your child started admiring the beautiful colors and patterns every piece of clothing incorporates? Started wondering how clothes are made? Do you feel your child is dreaming of becoming a fashionista? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then put them in this beginner sewing series class.
This weekly series class consist of 40 sessions in a year. The first session is the Introduction to Sewing Machine. Students may join at any time provided they have either taken Introduction to Sewing Machine or have basic knowledge of using a sewing machine. Fees for these classes will be charged on a monthly basis. 4 sessions will count as a month.
It will start with reinforcing simple sewing techniques learned in the introduction class and will move to learning how to measure oneself, read patterns, follow directions, and trace and cut patterns.
Students will learn to use a variety of sewing tools, including: seam ripper, seam gauge, and tracing wheel. They will be taught about the grainline and its importance. The essentials of working with sewing patterns will be a focal skill taught in this series. Student will practice and refine their skills through creating projects like a lined tote bag, zippered pouch, cell phone bag, beach bag, pajama shorts, simple skirt, simple blouse, and many others. They will select and complete projects based on their skill and interest.
Supplies: With the exception of fabric, all supplies will be provided. As fabric choice depends on personal taste students are encouraged to bring their own. Please do not buy fabric before taking the first class as type and quantity required will be discussed in the first class. Fabric should be washed after purchase. Please also iron the fabric before coming to class as this will save time.

Basic Sewing II
In Basic Sewing II, you will be able to reinforce the skills you learned in Introduction to Sewing Machine and acquire more advanced skills. In this class, students will make multiple projects. The number of class sessions will change depending on the project. Some of the projects that will be taught are tote bag, zippered pouch, jewelry roll, journal cover and duffle bag. Supplies: With the exception of fabric, all supplies will be provided. As fabric choice depends on personal taste students are encouraged to bring their own. Please do not buy fabric before taking the first class as type and amount required will be discussed in the first class. Fabric should be washed after purchase. Please also iron the fabric before coming to class as this will save time.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Sewing Machine or basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine.
Class duration: 2 hours per session
Price: $50 per individual session or $180.00 per 4 session package
